Parent Partners for Prep

The Parent Partners for Prep Program is designed to help parents become active members of the Prep Academy community and develop lasting relationships with one another and the REACH Prep staff and faculty. Parent Partners in Prep focuses on the following goals:

  • To help parents connect with one another in discussions regarding how they can support their Scholars and the Prep Academy program

  • To help expand their understanding of the expectations, culture and experience of independent schools.

  • To help parents become more active in the special events and activities which are a part of the Prep Academy experience

  • To give parents the opportunity to share their personal talents and ideas with the Prep Academy Scholars and faculty members in order to build an even stronger academic community

  • To create an inclusive community within Prep Academy

Three to four Prep parents will be asked to be Partner Captains. These parents work with the Director of Education to plan and implement special events and activities which support the Scholars and parents:

  • Periodic “Coffee and Chat” roundtable sessions at Prep drop-off, starting in the fall Saturday program. Topics will be selected by parents in partnership with the Director of Education

  • Organize and volunteer at special events

  • Parents as partners in the classrooms, supporting units of study such as: The study of Immigration; The Civil Rights Movement; read aloud time; special art projects; social events

  • Parents share a personal hobby, a specific expertise, idea, project with our Scholars
